Golden Digital Gateway BTM1 is a carrier-neutral colocation data centre situated within Nongsa Digital Park on the island of Batam, Indonesia. The facility is a joint venture between Hong Kong-based real estate private equity firm Gaw Capital Partners and Indonesian real estate developer Sinar Primera Group, operating together under the Golden Digital Gateway banner. Phase one of the facility delivers 5.2MW of IT capacity across a 13,000 sqm site, with Phase II targeting a further 20MW to bring the campus to approximately 25MW total.
The nine-month build-out demonstrates the project team's ability to deliver modern data centre infrastructure at pace in a competitive emerging market. Nongsa Digital Park's special economic zone status provides favourable tax conditions that allow operators such as Golden Digital Gateway to offer cost-competitive colocation services compared to Singapore, whilst maintaining the low-latency network connectivity that regional enterprises and cloud providers demand. The facility is designed to serve companies requiring world-class IT infrastructure in Southeast Asia at a compelling total cost of ownership.
