BW Digital's hyperscale data centre at Nongsa Digital Park SEZ, Batam. Phase 1: 24MW; full build: 144MW. 20-year PPA secured.
BW Digital NDP1 is a carrier-neutral data centre facility located at Nongsa Digital Park, a special economic zone (SEZ) on the island of Batam, Indonesia. Developed by BW Digital, the digital infrastructure arm of BW Group β a global maritime and shipping conglomerate β the facility completed the topping-off of its main structure in September 2025. Phase one delivers up to 24MW of IT capacity, with the full build-out planned to reach 144MW across the site's 13,000 sqm footprint, making it one of the largest planned data centre campuses in the Batam market.
The facility benefits from a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in force since 2024, providing long-term energy security and supporting the operator's sustainability commitments. Nongsa Digital Park's SEZ status confers significant tax advantages, making it an economically competitive location relative to neighbouring Singapore, while the park's fibre infrastructure ensures high-capacity, low-latency connectivity for operators and tenants. Batam's proximity to Singapore β separated only by the Singapore Strait β has made it a natural overflow market for the city-state's data centre ecosystem.
BW Digital's NDP1 serves hyperscale, enterprise, and cloud clients requiring scalable colocation and build-to-suit capacity in Southeast Asia. The facility's phased development approach allows tenants to commit to initial capacity while benefiting from a clear expansion pathway as demand grows. BW Group's operational expertise in energy and maritime infrastructure underpins the technical and operational rigour applied to the data centre's design and management.
