Bell AI Fabric – Kamloops TRU is a 26MW AI data centre co-located at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. The facility forms a key component of Bell Canada's AI Fabric supercluster — a programme to deliver 500MW of sovereign, hydropower-backed AI compute infrastructure across British Columbia.
The university campus location reflects an intentional strategy to co-locate advanced AI compute near research and academic talent, enabling Thompson Rivers University and partner institutions to access on-campus, high-performance GPU infrastructure for AI research, large-language model training, and applied sciences. This integration of industrial AI infrastructure with an academic environment is part of a broader Canadian approach to building sovereign AI capabilities at a national level.
With a 26MW power allocation, the Kamloops TRU site is significantly larger than the first-phase Kamloops and Merritt facilities, enabling the hosting of large-scale GPU clusters for enterprise and government customers.
