Hive Digital Technologies Data Centre - Boden, Sweden
Hive Digital Technologies' 32MW facility in Boden, Sweden, upgraded to Tier III with liquid cooling for AI GPU workloads, underpinned by a 10-year sovereign Swedish technology tenant LOI.
Hive Digital Technologies' 32MW data centre facility in Boden, northern Sweden, is a purpose-built digital infrastructure asset that the company has operated since 2018 following its acquisition from Bodens Utvecklings AB. Located in one of Europe's premier Nordic data centre markets, the Boden facility benefits from abundant renewable hydroelectric power, cool northern climate enabling low-cost and efficient cooling, and the town's strategic position within Sweden's emerging digital corridor.
In 2026, Hive secured approval from the Boden Municipal Council to fully acquire the site and is upgrading the facility to Tier III standards. The upgrade includes the installation of direct-to-chip liquid cooling systems to accommodate high-density AI GPU deployments, with the facility capable of supporting 150kW racks for next-generation NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 architecture. Hive signed a letter of intent with a sovereign Swedish investment-grade technology company for a 10-year lease covering approximately 25MW of IT capacity for up to 10,000 Nvidia GB300 GPUs.
The Boden facility is a key asset in Hive Digital Technologies' portfolio, which also includes data centre and cloud operations in Canada through its Buzz AI cloud division. The facility exemplifies the growing trend of northern Swedish data centres transitioning from cryptocurrency mining to AI infrastructure, leveraging the region's clean energy and cooling advantages to attract enterprise and sovereign technology customers seeking high-performance, sustainable compute capacity.
