Data Center Planet Apps Now on iOS and Android

By DCP EditorialFriday, 16 October 2026

Data Center Planet is now available as a mobile app on both the Apple App Store and Google Play. Both are free, and both put the full global directory — 9,782 published facilities across 166 countries and 3,518 cities — on your phone.

The directory has always worked on mobile browsers. What the app adds is everything that a browser tab does not: it sits on your home screen, it keeps you signed in, and it can notify you.

What you can do in the app

The app carries the same directory as the website rather than a cut-down version of it.

  • Search the global directory. Facilities by country, city and provider — colocation sites, cloud platforms, managed service providers and specialist infrastructure suppliers, side by side.
  • Filter down to a shortlist. Narrow by location and provider category, then contact the operator directly from the listing.
  • Read industry news. The same news feed as the site, covering new builds, market expansion, power, cooling and connectivity.
  • Track events. The conferences and expos shaping the sector, with 26 currently listed ahead.
  • Manage your own listing. Operators can create a free account, publish a facility and maintain it from a phone — useful when you are standing in the building rather than sat at a desk.

Who it is for

The directory's audience has always been split between people buying infrastructure and people supplying it, and the app serves both.

For buyers — IT and infrastructure teams, procurement, network and interconnection specialists — it is a way to check a market or a specific facility without opening a laptop. Shortlisting colocation in a city you are visiting is a different exercise on the ground than it is in a planning meeting.

For operators and providers, it lowers the effort of keeping a listing accurate. A facility profile that can be corrected from a phone is far more likely to stay current than one that requires a desktop session.

Consultants, analysts and investors tracking the sector get the same search and the same news feed in a form that travels.

Availability

The iOS app requires iOS 16.4 or later and supports iPhone and iPad. It is a 42 MB download, listed under Business, and rated 4+. The Android app is published as io.datacenterplanet.app and is also listed under Business. Both are published by PODTECH IO LTD.

Version 1.0 went live on 12 October 2026. Both apps are free to download and free to use — as on the website, listing a facility costs nothing and the core profile is never restricted.

What is coming

This first release focuses on getting the directory, news and events into your pocket properly. Push notifications are built in, and we will use them sparingly — listing approvals, claim updates and genuinely significant sector news, rather than a daily digest nobody asked for.

If something does not work as you expect, or there is a feature you want on mobile that is missing, tell us: datacenterplanet.com/contact. Early feedback shapes what goes into the next release far more than anything else does.

Data Center Planet has been cataloguing the global data centre market since 2014. The directory also covers 711 submarine cable systems, mapped alongside the facilities, and is free to search on the web with no account required.
