Renewable energy developer Telis Energie Deutschland (a subsidiary of Telis Energy Group, founded by Carlyle in 2022) plans a 500MW multi-tenant data center campus north of the town of Mehrum, near Hanover in Lower Saxony, Germany. The campus will span 380,000 sqm (4.09 million sq ft) across six 25-metre-high buildings. Construction is expected to begin in 2028 and last approximately two years. Investment is estimated at over €1 billion ($1.14bn). Electricity will be supplied via high-voltage lines from a new gas-fired power station, with at least one additional substation planned. The project is in initial planning stages pending full municipal approval.
