T1 Energy Giga Arctic Data Center
T1 Energy Giga Arctic Data Center is a planned 50MW data centre in Mo i Rana, Norway, converting part of T1 Energy's former Giga Arctic solar manufacturing campus. In August 2026 the Mo i Rana municipal government approved a permit to rezone 15,000 sqm (161,000 sq ft) of the site for industrial use
T1 Energy Giga Arctic Data Center is a planned 50MW data centre in Mo i Rana, Norway, converting part of T1 Energy's former Giga Arctic solar manufacturing campus. In August 2026 the Mo i Rana municipal government approved a permit to rezone 15,000 sqm (161,000 sq ft) of the site for industrial use or data centre operations.
The remainder of the 86,028 sqm campus remains zoned for industrial development, subject to additional grid capacity. T1 Energy holds a position in the local grid queue for 396MW and says the existing building could accommodate a data centre of that size, with operations possible as early as 2027.
The site sits in an industrial park in northern Norway with access to regional hydropower. T1 Energy, formerly Freyr Battery, has a 50-year lease at Giga Arctic with an option to extend. This would be the company's first data centre.
