Raxio's Tier III-designed carrier-neutral data centre in Kigali, Rwanda — the country's primary colocation and internet exchange hub.
Raxio RW1 is Rwanda's first carrier-neutral, Tier III-designed data centre, located in Kigali's Gasabo District. Developed by Raxio Group — the pan-African data centre operator backed by Roha Group and AfricaConnect — RW1 was designed to serve as Rwanda's primary hub for internet exchange, colocation, and cloud connectivity services.
The facility is strategically positioned to serve Rwanda's rapidly growing digital economy, supporting the government's Vision 2050 digital transformation agenda and Smart Rwanda initiatives. RW1 provides direct connectivity to Rwanda's national internet exchange point, submarine cable landing stations via terrestrial fibre, and to Raxio's growing pan-African data centre network spanning Uganda, Ethiopia, Côte d'Ivoire, Mozambique, and Angola.
With Rwanda positioning itself as a technology hub for East and Central Africa, Raxio RW1 attracts cloud providers, financial services firms, telecoms operators, and government agencies requiring reliable, secure data centre infrastructure. The facility meets international standards for power, cooling, security, and fire suppression, and supports Rwanda's ambitions to become a preferred destination for regional digital investment.
