Joint NeutraDC (Telkom Indonesia) and Nxera (Singtel) hyperscale AI data centre at Kabil Industrial Estate, Batam. 50MW+ capacity, operational from H1 2026.
NeutraDC BTM-1 is a major hyperscale data centre facility located at Kabil Industrial Estate on the island of Batam, Indonesia, developed as a joint venture between NeutraDC β the data centre arm of Telkom Indonesia, Indonesia's largest telecommunications provider β and Nxera, the regional data centre arm of Singtel. The facility topped out in October 2025, with commercial operations expected to commence in the first half of 2026. Providing over 50MW of IT capacity across a substantial footprint, BTM-1 is purpose-built for AI workloads and high-performance computing, featuring modern power infrastructure underpinned by a 90MVA electrical supply agreement with PT PLN Batam.
Batam's strategic position directly across the Singapore Strait has made it an increasingly attractive destination for data centre operators seeking cost-competitive alternatives to Singapore, while maintaining ultra-low latency connectivity to one of Asia's most critical internet hubs. NeutraDC also operates a second facility at the same Kabil Industrial Estate. BTM-1 has secured significant commercial momentum, with Gorilla Technology signing a capacity agreement for 5.5MW in May 2026 as part of a $2.5 billion AI compute contract, with deployments of Nvidia B300 GPU servers commencing in September 2026.
The facility benefits from the Indonesian sovereign wealth fund Danantara Indonesia's involvement as well as renewable power partnerships with Medco Power Indonesia, underscoring the project's commitment to sustainable digital infrastructure. Its location within Kabil Industrial Estate provides access to a well-established technology and industrial ecosystem, supporting the rapid deployment of AI and cloud computing workloads for both regional and global enterprises.
