Hyperco has filed plans for a second 100MW data center in Koria, Kouvola, Finland, adjacent to its first TikTok-serving facility under construction.
Hyperco, a Finnish data centre developer owned by Edgnex (the data centre arm of Dubai real estate firm DAMAC), has filed a permit application to develop a second data centre in the Koria district of Kouvola, Finland. The proposed two-storey facility, adjacent to Hyperco's first Koria data centre currently under construction, could total 100MW of IT capacity across 56,670 sqm (609,990 sq ft). Hyperco has requested permission to begin foundation work before the formal building permit takes effect, seeking to use the summer construction window before the Finnish ground freezes.
The first Hyperco Koria data centre, being developed alongside DayOne, is scheduled for completion in May 2027 and is intended to serve TikTok's data processing requirements. A second data centre on the adjacent plot would significantly expand Hyperco's capacity in Kouvola, reinforcing the city's emergence as a major Nordic data centre hub.
Kouvola, located in Kymenlaakso approximately 135km northeast of Helsinki, offers excellent fibre connectivity — including proximity to key East-West cable routes — combined with cool Nordic climate and access to low-carbon Finnish electricity. Hyperco's expansion is part of Edgnex's broader strategy to develop sustainable, high-density AI and cloud infrastructure across the Nordic region. The company also has projects in development in Espoo, Pyhäjoki, and Lohja, and operates an existing data centre in Vantaa.
