Green Datacenter Development (GDD) is developing a 200MW data centre in Schladen-Werla, Lower Saxony, Germany. A grid connection request has been approved by the local operator, and municipal authorities approved the facility's inclusion in the area development plan in April 2026. The site covers more than 14 hectares (34 acres) outside the town and is set to open as early as 2030. It is intended to support AI and cloud applications, with a waste heat network for local homes and businesses, and power drawn from local solar and wind farms. This would be GDD's first data centre.
