500-acre, 8-building AI/HPC data center campus near Waco, Texas. $400M investment adjacent to SpaceX facilities.
Galaxy Digital is developing its second major data center campus in Texas, situated on 500 acres in McGregor, a city located southwest of Waco in McLennan and Coryell counties. The project, known internally as Project Merlin, is sited adjacent to SpaceX's rocket test and development facility in the McGregor Industrial Park.
Galaxy has committed to investing approximately $400 million to develop as many as eight buildings at the site, which will utilise closed-loop cooling systems to minimise water consumption. The company has agreed to cover the costs of related infrastructure upgrades as part of its commitment to the McGregor community.
This would represent Galaxy's second major data center campus, following its Helios campus in Dickens County. With CoreWeave having taken on the full capacity of Helios for AI and HPC workloads, the McGregor campus represents Galaxy's continued push to serve the burgeoning demand for AI infrastructure in Texas.
