Edged Data Centers - Irving, Texas (DFW)
162,545 sqft warehouse conversion data centre at 505 N Wildwood Drive, Irving, Texas. $35M Edged DFW facility.
Edged Data Centers (formerly Edged Energy) is developing a 162,545 square foot (15,100 sqm) data centre at 505 N. Wildwood Drive in Irving, Dallas County, Texas. Operating under the name Edged DFW Data Center, the facility involves modifications to an existing warehouse, incorporating purpose-built data processing halls alongside office facilities and dedicated electrical and mechanical systems.
Irving is situated within the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, one of the largest and most established data centre markets in the United States. The DFW market benefits from its central geographic position, diverse carrier ecosystem, competitive electricity rates, and extensive fibre connectivity. Irving itself is home to several existing data centre facilities from operators including QTS.
The $35 million Edged DFW project represents the company's entry into the important Texas market and reflects its broader US expansion strategy. Like all Edged facilities, the Irving data centre employs ThermalWorks' waterless cooling technology, enabling Edged to achieve a PUE of around 1.15 even in the hot Texas climate without consuming water, a significant advantage in a state facing long-term water resource challenges.
