DataCo Papua New Guinea Port Moresby

DataCo Papua New Guinea Data Centre in Port Moresby is operated by DataCo PNG Limited, the state-owned infrastructure company responsible for Papua New Guinea's national transmission network and subsea cable infrastructure. The facility serves as PNG's primary internet gateway, connecting the country to international networks via the PIPE Pacific and ASH submarine cable systems. The data centre provides colocation and connectivity services to telecoms operators, ISPs, government agencies, mining companies, and enterprises across Papua New Guinea. As the operator of PNG's national fibre backbone, DataCo's facility plays a unique role in aggregating and distributing bandwidth to customers who depend on its infrastructure for onward connectivity to remote areas of the country's challenging terrain. PNG's significant natural resources sector — including world-class gold, copper, and LNG operations — generates substantial demand for reliable data centre and connectivity services. DataCo's Port Moresby facility supports both the resource sector's operational technology needs and PNG's broader digital transformation goals, including education, health, and e-government programmes reaching the country's diverse and geographically dispersed population.
