A consortium of five companies from Oman, the UAE, and Italy signed an agreement at Oman Sustainability Week on 18 May 2026 to develop a 150MW hyperscale AI data center in Oman. Partners include: Dubai-based consultancy Corpolgia, Omani oil and gas equipment supplier Ahlam Group, Italian security specialist Forte Secur Group, Italian contractor Vitali, and Genoa-based engineering consultancy RINA. The "green data center" will feature renewable energy and high-efficiency systems to reduce environmental impact, aligning with Oman's Vision 2040 strategy to diversify the economy away from oil. Exact location in Oman has not been disclosed.
