Buzz HPC AI Data Center Campus in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is a 320MW AI-native data centre under development by Buzz HPC, the high-performance computing subsidiary of Hive Digital Technologies. Announced in June 2026, the campus will be spread across two adjacent parcels of land totalling 25 acres — strategically situated between the University of Toronto and the Vector Institute to the east, and the University of Waterloo to the west — positioning the facility at the heart of Canada's most significant AI research corridor.
The $3.5 billion CAD project will target a go-live date of H2 2027 and is designed to host more than 100,000 GPUs at full build-out, providing sovereign Canadian AI infrastructure at a scale previously unseen in the country. The campus features a closed-loop cooling system with a no-water-use approach, a key sustainability consideration given the density of AI compute planned. The site already carries a 320MW power allocation, representing one of the largest pre-secured power positions for a new Canadian data centre.
With over 850MW of power globally, Hive and Buzz HPC have assembled a substantial AI-infrastructure pipeline. The GTA campus will serve as the anchor site for Buzz's Canadian AI platform, complementing deployments in British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Quebec, and Ontario, as well as Hive's existing and planned data centres in Sweden and Paraguay. At least 800 construction jobs are expected to be created during the build phase.
