Bell AI Fabric's Manitoba deployment is a sovereign AI GPU cluster operated by Buzz HPC, a subsidiary of Hive Digital Technologies, at a Bell Canada data centre in Manitoba, Canada. The initial 5MW deployment forms part of the Bell AI Fabric initiative – Bell Canada's national AI infrastructure programme – and represents one of the first deployments under the Buzz HPC and Bell Canada partnership for Nvidia-based AI infrastructure across multiple Canadian provinces. The Manitoba cluster provides access to Nvidia Ampere, Hopper, and Blackwell GPU clusters via Bell's AI Fabric platform.
The Manitoba deployment is designed to support a range of national AI objectives including building sovereign AI capabilities, providing nationwide access to advanced AI tools, and supporting sustainable AI development. Bell AI Fabric is structured as a multi-province initiative, with phase one focused on British Columbia and subsequent phases expanding to additional provinces including Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and New Brunswick. The Manitoba cluster positions Canada's interior prairie province as a node in the growing national AI compute network being built out by Bell Canada and Buzz HPC.
Buzz HPC was originally known as Hive Cloud and operates as the high-performance computing and AI cloud division of Hive Digital Technologies, formerly Hive Blockchain. The company offers access to Nvidia GPU infrastructure including H100, A6000, A5000, A40, and H200 systems. The Bell AI Fabric partnership enables Buzz to deploy and commercialise GPU capacity across Bell's national data centre footprint, providing Canadian enterprises, government agencies, and AI developers with access to sovereign, private, and secure compute resources without reliance on foreign-controlled cloud infrastructure.
