NTT DATA has declared a significant milestone in its business trajectory, focusing on accelerating growth and innovation within its Global Data Centers division. With a substantial investment exceeding $10 billion projected for development through 2027, the company is enhancing its capacity to provide AI-optimized, sustainable infrastructure across various regions including North America, Europe, and Asia.

In 2024, numerous industries confronted rising pressure to manage extensive data and deploy AI capabilities extensively. NTT GDC met these challenges with substantial expansions, establishing over 370 megawatts of added capacity by inaugurating 10 new data centers and facilitating more than 200MW dedicated to AI workloads. This initiative strengthens its position as the world’s third-largest data center provider.

Doug Adams, CEO and president of Global Data Centers at NTT DATA, stated, ‘NTT Global Data Centers is committed to building infrastructure for future demands while providing scalable, secure, and sustainable solutions that enterprises need now. This effort is about more than data centers; it’s about equipping our customers to excel in an increasingly competitive environment.’

Part of this expansion includes $2.9 billion invested strategically in land acquisitions and development, featuring a major 68.5-acre campus in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, set to become one of the largest data center sites in APAC with a 290MW capacity, as well as new facilities in Berlin, Frankfurt, Chicago, and Hillsboro, Oregon, enabling over 800MW of prospective capacity.

NTT Global Data Centers continues its leadership in innovation with advanced liquid cooling systems for high-density AI workloads, marking GDC as a preferred partner for enterprises prioritizing performance and efficiency at scale.

Sustainability remains central to GDC’s mission; in FY2023, the company achieved a 26% reduction in emissions and increased renewable energy use to 51%. It remains dedicated to reaching net-zero emissions by 2030.

Adams remarked, ‘These accomplishments emphasize our unwavering dedication to innovation as we redefine possibilities for the digital age. Looking ahead to 2025, we’re focused on empowering pioneering companies with the infrastructure necessary for their transformation.’
