IBM CLOUD DIRECT LINK DEDICATED HOSTING SERVICE
Digital Realty has just added IBM Cloud Direct Link to its services at the 3.5-hectare data center campus in Sydney, Australia.
This Digital Realty facility, which is on Templar Road, Erskine Park, will now offer IBM Cloud direct link dedicated hosting service in Sydney. Thus, increasing the footprint of the cloud giant IBM, especially in Australia.
“We are the first data center provider to offer IBM Cloud Direct Link Dedicated Hosting, and currently the only data center provider to offer IBM Direct Link Connect,” said Chris Sharp, Digital Realty Chief Technology Officer.
“The flexibility of offering customers multiple options enables them to choose the level of service they need, to help meet their specific speed, deployment and location requirements. “
According to Digital Realty, the new service provides access to the IBM Cloud which is also in Sydney with up to 10 Gb/s speed. The company expects that this offering will quicken hybrid cloud adoption for local enterprises and enable them to take the next step in their hybrid cloud journeys.
“Digital Realty is an important partner in the IBM Cloud ecosystem and we’re glad to see our partnership expanding across APAC,” said Paul Hertzfelt, offering manager of IBM Cloud Direct Link.
“With this new on-ramp, Digital Realty can offer their customers reliable and secure access to the IBM Cloud via IBM Cloud Direct Link, giving them access to IBM’s suite of high value services like blockchain, AI, analytics and IoT.”
As a data center operator, Digital Realty is already operating IBM’s data centers in Australia on behalf of the giant, and has been a long-term strategic partner.
“We’re open for business in Sydney with IBM. We’re continuing to grow with one of the top cloud service providers in a new market, and we’re going to continue to open up new and meaningful markets,” said Patrick Murphy, Digital Realty global solutions sales director.
Currently, Digital Realty operates five data centers in Australia and the sixth is underway.
