ENTERS FIVE MARKETS THROUGH THIS DEAL

Provider of hyperscale data center campuses Vantage Data Centers, has today announced its expansion into the Asia Pacific market through two acquisitions – Agile Data Centers and the data center portfolio of PCCW Ltd. (PCCW DC), both with facilities spanning over the Asia-Pacific region.

While Agile Data Centers’ hyperscale campuses has about 168MW of critical IT load with presence in Tokyo, Osaka and Melbourne, the second acquisition PCCW Ltd. (PCCW DC) has about 100MW of existing critical IT load across multiple facilities in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.

DigitalBridge Investment Management, Vantage’s major stakeholder, earlier announced the acquisition of PCCW DC in a transaction deal worth $750 million that is scheduled to close by the fourth quarter of 2021, subject to customary closing conditions – the portfolio will be handed over to Vantage upon the close of transaction.

As announced, Giles Proctor, former president and co-founder of Agile Data Centers will serve as the president of Vantage’s APAC business, with a team of about 150 employees while Brian Groen, senior vice president of data centers, PCCW DC, will join Vantage as senior vice president, APAC, upon closing of the PCCW DC transaction.
