STARTING WITH 4MW CAPACITY

End-to-end digital infrastructure solutions company, V.tal has just announced the opening of its second edge data center, in Fortaleza, Brazil.

The new facility is to start operation with a 4MW capacity as well as four data halls with space to accommodate 400 racks, and is to be fully integrated with the company’s undersea cable landing station (CLS – Cable Landing Station) – which has been operating since 2002.

“With the kick-off of the new edge data center complex, V.tal consolidates itself as an ecosystem of neutral infrastructure solutions that provides its customers with robustness, resilience, redundancy, capillarity and very low latency”, said Cícero Olivieri, Vice President of Engineering at V.tal.

According to V.tal, the new edge data center unit will also be integrated with the company’s other edge data center in Fortaleza, delivering a total of 7,000 m² built-up area, capacity above 5MW and over 600 rack positions, when combined.

“V.tal will invest to expand its data center park, as it complements its capillarity and footprint in all Brazilian regions, in addition to meeting the present and future requirements of its customers, due to innovations and new technologies that have been emerging,” said Eduardo Silveira, Vice President of Strategy at V.tal.

As announced, V.tal now boast of 4 complete edge data centers in operation (two in Fortaleza, one in Rio de Janeiro and another one in Barranquilla, Colombia), which are all connected by about 26 thousand kilometers of undersea optical cables.

Recently, Piemonte Holding’s data center investment arm, Elea Digital also announced a partnership with Vertiv to deliver edge data center services in Brazil. As announced, Vertiv, a provider of data center infrastructure and continuity solutions, will provide operation and maintenance services for Elea Digital data centers in metro areas which include Porto Alegre, Curitiba, and Brasilia.
