ITS SECOND DATA CENTER SITE IN THE COUNTRY

ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), has announced it plans to develop a new data site in Gasan-dong, Seoul, South Korea.

The new data center site will comprise 31,205 square meters of gross floor area, expected to deliver up to 30MW of IT power upon full development. This site is STT GDC’s second data center location in South Korea, and according to the company, the establishment of this second facility is backed by a global institutional investor, and Samsung SRA Asset Management, the real estate investment arm of Samsung Group.

“The establishment of our second data centre site in South Korea bears testament to our strong efforts in supporting the country’s digital transformation and we are delighted for this next chapter of our growth,” said Bruno Lopez, President and Group Chief Executive Officer, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres.

“This expansion in Seoul is a natural next step for us in offering critical digital infrastructure services to meet the growing customer demand for complex design and scale requirements. Tapping on STT GDC’s global data centre expertise, we continue to grow with our customers, supporting their digitalisation efforts as they scale globally.”

Scheduled to be ready for service in the first half of 2025, both partners are expected to develop the shell and core of the new South Korea data center while STT GDC will lease the shell and core building, complete the remaining facility fitouts, and operate the data center.

STT GDC is headquartered in Singapore, where it opened a 40MW data center facility in June 2021, located at Loyang. STT Loyang data center supports a Gross Floor Area of over 290,000 square feet (27,000 square meters) with a Net Leasable Area of over 111,000 square feet (10,700 square meters).
