DataBank New Kansas DataCenter
The datacenter and network provider DataBank, has announced the launching schedule of its just-completed data center KC3, in Kansas City.
KC3 is DataBank’s third facility in the market of Kansas City. Sited in Lakeview Avenue of the Lenexa district, KC3 is the bedrock of the company’s new South Lake Data Center Campus and brings Databank’s facility count to 15 in the United States.
The launching into operation of KC3 is set for 15 May, 2019 and will feature an American football legend Eddie Kennison, the former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver.
The new Tier III data center spans 44,000 square feet with 25,000 square feet of raised floor, and expandable to 106,350 square feet. A total power of 12MW will be available to the expandable site, with a critical load capability of 4-6MW. Currently, KC3 has 4MW of power capacity with 3MW of critical load capacity.
“With private fiber rings linking KC3 to our KC1 and KC2 facilities, plus large carrier hotels in the market, KC3 provides optimal connectivity to the region,” said DataBank. The company added that KC3 augments the innovative and growing Kansas City market with a full range of colocation, cloud, and connectivity solutions such as connectivity to public cloud on-ramps, enabled via Megaport’s SDN offerings, and direct access to DataBank FedRAMP-certified CloudPlus 5 (CP5) platform.
