Cisco has declared its in-house AI models ready to empower its products, beginning with the Duo Identity Intelligence service. The model, dubbed Foundation-Sec-8B, is a comprehensive language model designed to streamline cybersecurity activities. Key functionalities include automating security operations, simulating threats, and offering engineering support. With the integration into Duo, the service can better detect unconventional access patterns, such as unusual geo-locations or abnormal privilege usage. Over 2,000 customers will soon receive advanced weekly identity reports, crafted with the new model’s capabilities. Cisco aims to offer security insights that are more precise and actionable. Future plans include deploying this model for various cyber applications like vulnerability prioritization and threat modeling. This move marks the beginning of Cisco’s broader AI strategy, with more advanced AI models slated for upcoming deployments.
