Broadcom recently disclosed a major development involving its collaboration with Google, where it will manufacture next-generation AI and datacenter chips, specifically the custom Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) for Google’s future needs. This collaboration could significantly boost Broadcom’s revenue from AI chips, projected to surpass $100 billion by 2027.

Furthermore, Anthropic has committed to utilizing approximately 3.5 gigawatts of this enhanced compute power starting 2027, as part of Google’s advanced AI infrastructure. However, concerns linger about the financial stability required to support this large-scale deployment, which Broadcom has highlighted in regulatory filings.

Anthropic has tried to reassure stakeholders by reporting a remarkable increase in its run-rate revenue, now exceeding $30 billion from $9 billion at the close of 2025. Despite this, Broadcom remains cautious, with Google’s plans indicating Anthropic is a significant customer not only for TPUs but also as a Google Cloud user.

The arrangement also positions Anthropic as a diverse AI computational power consumer, leveraging not only Google’s TPUs but also AWS Trainium chips and Nvidia’s offerings, aiming to optimize workloads efficiently across platforms.
