Xi’an, a city with a rich history in China, welcomes over 300 million tourists annually, challenging its mobile network capabilities. Traditional ‘one-size-fits-all’ models often fail during peak visits, causing network delays, disrupted streaming, and payment issues, affecting both the tourist experience and local digital economy growth. Responding to this, China Mobile Shaanxi, in partnership with ZTE, has introduced an AI-driven 5G solution. This service dynamically adjusts network resources, enhancing service reliability in high-traffic areas.
At the core of this solution is an AI-driven service recognition engine and a robust modular design that transforms standard base stations into intelligent systems. The system has a comprehensive service feature library, capable of identifying more than 16,000 application types with high accuracy. By aligning with tourist behavior patterns, such as shopping or visiting landmarks, the AI ensures seamless network optimization, prioritizing vital services like live streaming and mobile payment access.
Looking ahead, the plan is to extend this advanced solution to more prominent locations, including the Terracotta Army museum and sporting venues, by integrating additional real-time data like weather and crowd predictions to enhance precision in network management. This evolution signifies a shift from reactive to proactive network service delivery, providing tailored solutions such as AR navigation for enhanced user experiences, further boosting regional IT infrastructure.
