ITS THIRD DATA CENTER IN ISRAEL

Data center provider EdgeConneX has just announced the expansion of its data center footprint in Israel with the construction of a new facility.

Located in Rishon, the new data center facility is planned to offer 7.5MW of IT capacity, and is to be operational by Q3 2023, with the expectation of meeting the growing demand of hyperscalers, cloud service providers, and enterprises in the region.

“We’re thrilled to be well underway with the construction and development of the Rishon site. The new facility and additional expansion plans will bring the necessary capacity and innovation to grow business, and meet increasing hyperscaler and enterprise customer needs. We focus on our customers and providing them with the infrastructure and power capacity they want, where they want it, and when they want it,” said Dick Theunissen, Managing Director, EMEA, EdgeConneX.

As announced, the new data center will be the company’s third facility in Israel, complementing EdgeConneX’s existing data center presence near Tel Aviv, including sites in Herzliya and Petah Tikva, which are now both fully operational.

Furthermore, the Rishon facility is planned to offer extensive fiber and peering options with access to local and international internet service providers, to enable connectivity to global markets and services.

Recently, Techtonic also announced its plan to build an underground data center facility in Bet Shemesh, a city 20km east of Jerusalem, Israel. Codenamed Titan 4, the proposed facility is planned to offer 10.5MW of IT Capacity across 10 data halls, and 5,000 square meters (161,450 sq ft). The site is also planned to have TIER IV building certification by UPTIME INSTITUTE.

Google Cloud also announced the opening of its new GCP (Google Cloud Platform) Region which is located in Tel Aviv, Israel, recently. The new Google Cloud Region now joins Google Cloud global network, making it easier for local organizations to connect with users and customers across GCP global footprints.
