A 255,000 SQUARE-FOOT FACILITY
Colocation and wholesale data center provider, H5 Data Centers has just announced the groundbreaking of the first phase of its new data center facility in Ashburn, Northern Virginia.
Located on Beaumeade Circle, the new facility is to feature a three-story building which is planned to deliver 42MW of critical load across 255,000 square feet, upon full build. The company also stated that pre-leasing is under way with availability in Q3 of 2024.
“H5 Data Centers is investing extensively across our portfolio and today’s announcement of our Ashburn groundbreaking is an exciting start to a busy year of development. Upon completion, the data center will provide our customers with the ability to meet their stringent security and reliability requirements,” said Josh Simms, founder and CEO of H5 Data Centers.
With about 20 data centers in the US markets, H5 Data Centers claims that the new addition will represent a quality option for cloud service providers, content and technology companies, and Fortune 500 customers alike.
CyrusOne – a data center developer and operator, recently announced its acquisition of a 57.6-acre land parcel, also in Northern Virginia, Loudoun County, to further expand its data center footprint. Located near the intersection of the Dulles Greenway toll road and Belmont Ridge Road, the new land parcel is planned for the construction of new data center complex designed for hyperscale cloud providers and large-scale companies.
Also in the US, Amazon Web Services (AWS), recently announced its delivery of AWS Modular Data Center (AWS MDC) – a transportable facility that is designed to provide the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) with ability to deploy compute and storage capabilities in remote environments. As announced, AWS MDC is designed to deliver a cost-effective, self-contained modular data center solution that supports customers’ data center scale workloads, while giving access to AWS services and APIs to run low latency applications from virtually any location.
