OFFERING 6,500 SQUARE METERS OF SPACE

Bridge Data Centres (BDC) has announced an expansion of its Asia Pacific footprint through the acquisition of a WHA Mega Logistic Centers’ data center in Samut Prakan, Thailand.

Now codenamed BKK01, the newly acquired data center marks the first BDC facility in Thailand, offering an approximate 6,500 square meter floor area, which is currently operational at 450kw. The remaining space is expected to support an additional 5MW IT load when fully developed.

“Bridge Data Centres (BDC) recognised Thailand’s potential through the rise in their adoption of cloud-based services. This contributes to the growth of retail and wholesale colocation services in the Thai digital space,” said Dz Shing Lim, President, Bridge Data Centres.

“With this, BDC sees strong demand coming from Hyperscale content providers & cloud operators, followed by leading e-commerce companies, public sector agencies, and the banking sector. BDC has been growing steadily in Asia Pacific region and Thailand is one of the many markets within South-east Asia that we are making entry into, as we follow Hyperscale demand and favouring market conditions.”

Headquartered in Singapore, Bridge Data Centres has been expanding its footprint across Asia Pacific with a strong presence in Malaysia, where it currently operates two data centers MY01 and MY02, located in the Kuala Lumpur region.

Also in Malaysia, Bridge Data Centres is constructing its third data center which is located in Bukit Jalil region of Kuala Lumpur. Codenamed MY03, the new data center is designed to deliver 16MW of total IT capacity, joining Bridge’s two existing data centers in Cyberjaya area that provide a total IT capacity of 20MW.

Bridge Data Centres is also developing another data center facility MY06, which is sited on a 40 acre land in Johor, Malaysia. Located in the Kidex Sedenak business park, MY06 is designed as a hyperscale facility to deliver a total power capacity of 100MW across three buildings.
