A FULLY LEASED DATA CENTER

StratCap Data Centers, the data center real estate division of StratCap, has announced that it has completed the acquisition of a data center in Jacksonville, Florida.

The newly acquired facility delivers 25,600 square feet of data center space. The Jacksonville data center has been fully leased to a major telecommunications carrier and serves as one of the company’s wireless communications switching centers.

“This was an off-market, relationship-driven opportunity to invest in a mission critical asset with a high-quality tenant and nearly 16 years of lease term remaining. We think the property is a perfect fit for our overall investment strategy and adds significant value to our overall portfolio,” said Bryan Marsh, CEO of StratCap Data Centers.

As announced, the current tenant at the Jacksonville data center has recently invested significant capital to upgrade the building to serve its technical operations and expand its 5G wireless coverage.

Also in Florida, colocation, cloud, and IT services provider ColoHouse, announced in January that it has acquired Steadfast, a cloud, bare metal, and data center provider based in the US Midwest. With about 20 years of operation, Steadfast had a portfolio that includes three colocation data centers located at 350 E Cermak, Chicago; 725 S. Wells Street, Chicago; and Edison, New Jersey.

Recently, multi-tenant edge computing service provider, EdgePresence, announced the opening of its new flagship edge data center (EdgePod™) in Orlando, Florida, a 15-cabinet edge data center facility. EdgePresence further announced that it plans to deploy four additional EdgePods™ in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, California markets.

In Jacksonville, SBA Communications acquired the JaxNAP carrier hotel in 2020, a data center located in Jacksonville, Florida. The JaxNAP facility is a 280,000 square foot, 14MW data center which houses Jacksonville Internet Exchange and connects to a cable landing station that serves three international communications cables including the America Movil Submarine Cable System-1 (AMX-1), CONFLUENCE-1 and the Pacific Caribbean Cable System (PCCS).
