3MW WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE NEXT FOUR MONTHS
Data center operator and developer, Serverfarm, has announced that it is expanding its London data center which is sited in Feltham, West London, England.
This expansion project is expected to enable the delivery of an additional 8MW capacity at the LON1 data center which has been in operation since March 2018. According to Serverfarm, this project is launched in response to strong customer demand.
“We will have 3MW of new power capacity available in the next four months, with more to come in 2023. And in true Serverfarm sustainability fashion, by building additional data center power capacity without the construction of new facilities, we are avoiding the use of unnecessary concrete, steel or glass,” said Arun Shenoy, CMO at Serverfarm.
Serverfarm LON1 data center is a three-story facility that contains nine data halls with a power and cooling capacity of 20MVA. The facility is also part of the NVIDIA DGX-Ready Data Center program, having a density capability of up to 40kW/rack.
The data center further boasts of providing direct network links to major cloud players including AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, as well as fiber connectivity to data center clusters in Slough and London Docklands.
Similarly, Serverfarm expanded its Atlanta data center capacity in November 2021 through the addition of 110,000 square feet of new data center space, bringing the facility to a total of 153,000 square feet of operational space with a capacity to offer 14MW of total IT power.
About 7 months ago, the company announced the development of its first data center facility in Israel which also marks Serverfarm’s first facility and venture in the Middle East.
Codenamed ISR3, the Israel data center facility is being developed in partnership with Israel Infrastructure Fund, and designed to deliver 9MW of critical capacity to prospective customers in the region.
