SIGNED NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH HICKORY

Data center developer and operator, STACK Infrastructure, has announced its plan to expand into Australia through an initial opening of 3 data center locations including Melbourne, Canberra, and Perth.

In line with this expansion plan, STACK has already established a new partnership with Hickory, an Australian commercial real estate developer, to drive the development of an Australian national data center platform for STACK, initially spanning three markets. As part of this partnership, Hickory’s data center management team led by Joel O’Halloran, Michael Gunton, and James Veness will join the STACK global platform.

As announced, STACK Australia has commenced construction of a 72MW campus in Truganina, Melbourne, and expected to be delivered by early 2023. As designed, the Melbourne campus will include two 36MW buildings with separate access points to accommodate multiple hyperscale users.

STACK Australia is simultaneously expanding into Canberra and Perth for which the company has received development approvals and set to break ground on both facilities in the third quarter of 2022 with delivery slated for the second half of 2023. As planned, STACK’s Canberra facility is sited in Hume and expected to deliver 28MW of data center capacity.  In Wangara, Perth, STACK Australia plans to deliver a 24MW single data center.

This announcement is coming about six month after STACK Infrastructure entered the APAC market with the launch of a 36MW data center campus in Inzai, Japan.
