ADDRESSING DEMANDS IN THE REGION

Investment firm Carrianna Group Holdings, has announced the commencement of operations at its new data center which is located in Kwai Chung, Hong Kong.

The new Honk Kong data center was developed with joint investments from Carrianna, Jun Gao Holdings Company Limited and Dr. Quentin Tsang. The facility which is located in Kwai Chung Ever Gain Plaza is now expected to provide data center solutions for telcos, cloud service providers, fintech/blockchain companies, and serve as a co-working space for different enterprises.

“It is an honour for Jun Gao Group to cooperate with Carrianna Group on revitalization of old properties, as well as to explore the development of combining real estate and technology which will become the foundation of diversified property development in the future,” said Dr. Wan Tak Fai Danny, Head of the new data center.

As announced, Carrianna acquired the property with gross floor area of 23,000 square feet, having a 5,000 square foot terrace for chillers and backup generator sets. The development therefore, involved converting the property to a data center with co-working space.

In line with the demand for data center infrastructure in Hong Kong, cloud neutral data center provider Global Switch, about 12 months ago, launched the final phase of its data center development in the Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate, Hong Kong.

The latest phase of Global Switch’s Hong Kong data center development added about 35,600 square meters and 58MVA of utility power supply capacity to the facility whose initial phase was launched in 2017. In total, the facility now offers up to 70,228 square meters and a total utility power supply capacity of 100MVA.
