DELIVERING THE INITIAL CAPACITY OF THE DATA CENTER

Multi-tenant data center service provider DC BLOX, has just announced the opening of its new Tier III data center which is located in Greenville’s Global Business Park, South Carolina.

This facility was first announced in 2020 while construction was scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2021. With this opening, DC BLOX is delivering an initial 25,000 square foot data center that can accommodate more than 400 cabinets of IT equipment and 3MW of power. According to the company, additional capacity will be developed as demand requires.

The new Greenville South Carolina multi-tenant data center is further expected to meet the need for local and world-class colocation services, also targeting companies in the region that setup and operate their IT infrastructure or workloads in facilities across Charlotte and Atlanta, promising them a competitive facility standard.

As promised, this first Tier III-designed data center in this market was built specifically to accelerate the deployment of critical infrastructure and interconnected cloud services throughout South Carolina. Having DC BLOX’s high-capacity and secure Tier III data center in our community is yet another key selling point for businesses considering investment in the Upstate,” said Mark Farris, President and CEO of the Greenville Area Development Corporation, the county’s economic development arm.

In May last year, DC BLOX acquired land in High Point, North Carolina with plans to construct a new tier III data center on the site. With a planned investment of $305 million, the carrier-neutral data center is designed to offer up to 18MW of critical load capacity across up to 54,000 square feet of data hall space.
