PLANS TO DELIVER BOTH EXPANSIONS BY Q2 2022

Data center and cloud service provider DataBank, has just announced the expansion of its Atlanta data center ATL3 and Dallas Fort Worth data center DFW3.

With this expansion projects, DataBank plans to add more than 22,000 square feet of data center space to its ATL3 facility, bringing the total capacity of the Atlanta site to about 44,000 square feet of white space.

“We’re excited to add this much-needed capacity to the Atlanta market. The construction project will increase the IT capacity of the site from 1.5MW to 6MW, and increase total raised floor space to 72,000 square feet. We expect many of our current clients to take advantage of the newly available capacity as the construction carries on,” said Tony Qorri, Vice President of Construction at DataBank.

In Plano, Texas, DataBank’s Dallas / Fort Worth data center DFW3, is expected to also undergo a major expansion which will provide an additional 22,000 square feet of space to the data center and 3MW of power which will be delivered from 2 halls known as Data Halls 5 and 6, having opened Data Hall 3 in July 2021. This expansion will bring DFW3 to a near-maximum capacity as the facility is designed to accommodate a total of six data Halls delivering 144,000 square feet of data center space and expandable by 72,000 square feet of usable space and up to 40MW of total power from diverse utility feeds.

“This expansion is the fourth and fifth data halls to be added to our DFW3. DataBank remains focused on providing enterprise-class colocation, interconnection, and managed cloud services. By continuing to grow our capabilities in a technology-concentrated business area of Dallas, we can adhere to the growing demand of more enterprise-class data centers,” said Tony Qorri.

As announced, both expansion projects are expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2022.
