A 29MW CRITICAL POWER EXPANSION

Data center and interconnection services provider Teraco Data Environments Proprietary Limited has just announced the completion of the expansion of its campus – JB3 data center facility, located within its Isando Campus in Ekurhuleni, east of Johannesburg, South Africa.

As announced, the JB3 facility comprises 45000 square meter of building structure, 12000 square meter of data hall space, and 29MW of critical power load, giving a total of 40MW critical power load when combined with its existing Isando Campus facilities.

Teraco claims that the facility represents a strategic addition to its Platform Teraco, offering a scalable platform for IT infrastructure deployment while sustaining performance, reliability, and security, meeting the growing demand for both cloud providers and enterprises.

According to Teraco, its Platform Teraco provides the lowest latency interconnection points to both cloud and content with over 200 telcos within the platform while providing connectivity to Africa. In addition, the company claims that the expansion enables them offer resilient and secure colocation facilities while working towards ensuring its long-term vision of enabling digital transformation across the African continent.
