HAVING A TERM OF 10 YEARS

Data center service provider Iron Mountain, has today announced the signing of a 2.4MW lease agreement with a hyperscale enterprise software provider at its WPA-1 data center in Boyers, Pennsylvania.

The Western Pennsylvania Data Center, WPA-1, is developed on a 200-acre site with the facility being constructed about 220 feet underground. According to Iron Mountain, the facility provides its full data center offerings including over 300,000 square feet of data center space and a total potential IT capacity of more than 15MW.

“As public and private sector organizations face increasing privacy, security and environmental regulations for their data center needs, our data centers in Western Pennsylvania and Northern Virginia are in high demand as the ideal option for connecting and protecting critical IT infrastructure and applications,” said Rick Crutchley, Vice President & General Manager, North America at Iron Mountain Data Centers.

“We are pleased to welcome a key new customer to the Iron Mountain ecosystem and we are honored that our existing customer chose to continue to expand with us. Both of these locations are ideal for a wide range of core retail enterprise and hyperscale colocation customers, and we look forward to continuing to support them across our global platform.”

Powered by 100% renewable energy, WPA-1 will offer the new customer an access to Green Power Pass, and as announced, the lease is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2022 which has a term of 10 years.

In December 2020, Iron Mountain signed a 6MW data center pre-lease expansion deal with a US-based customer at its AZP-2 data center in Phoenix, Arizona. AZP-2 is developed on a 40-acre site which is expected to offer up to 48MW of IT capacity upon full build, having 100% renewable energy supply and direct connection with the company’s existing 47MW operational data center AZP-1 in Phoenix and AZS-1 in Scottsdale.
