THE SECOND GOOGLE CLOUD REGION IN INDIA

Google Cloud has just announced the opening of its new cloud region in Delhi National Capital Region (NCR), India, expected to serve customers and the public sector in the country and across Asia Pacific.

The new Delhi cloud region opens with three availability zones (or separated data centers), offering a portfolio of Google Cloud products, including Compute Engine, App Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Bigtable, Cloud Spanner, and BigQuery.

“Navigating this past year has been a challenge for companies as they grapple with changing customers demands and economic uncertainty,” said Bikram SIngh Bedi, Managing Director, Google Cloud India.

“Technology has played a critical role, and we’ve been fortunate to partner with and serve people, companies, and government institutions around the world to help them adapt. The Google Cloud region in Delhi NCR will help our customers adapt to new requirements, new opportunities and new ways of working, like we’ve helped so many companies do in the region.”

Google Cloud launched its first Indian region in 2017, located in Mumbai. The Mumbai cloud region, asia-south1, joined the company’s other Asia regions in Singapore, Taiwan, Sydney and Tokyo. The Delhi cloud region is now the second Google Cloud region in India and the tenth to open in Asia Pacific. The new region now joins 25 existing Google Cloud regions across the globe.
