A TIER IV DATA CENTER IN HAWAII
US-based cloud and connectivity service provider Servpac Inc., has just opened its new 30,000 square foot data center in Mililani Tech Park (MTP), Hawaii.
The new Tier IV data center is sited 850 feet above sea level and 10 miles inland, which Servpac claims to be a naturally secure location, offering hurricane protection and located outside of major flood and tsunami evacuation zones.
As a carrier neutral facility, the data center supports connection via multiple network providers in Hawaii including Servpac’s dedicated fiber network. According to Servpac, the data center can accommodate up to 250 cabinets, and the entire facility has an additional expansion space of about 150,000 square feet while it sits on a 5-acre land of Central Oahu.
“In the last 20 years, there have been no major investments for data centers in Hawaii,” says Richard Zheng, President and Founder of Servpac.
“Now more than ever, businesses need a reliable, local digital infrastructure to build their capacity and address their data needs. We’ve listened by expanding Hawaii’s digital landscape with a best in class data center for customers in their own backyard.”
“The opening of this data center marks a major milestone for Servpac’s commitment towards local businesses. As a local company, we plan to invest 30 million dollars in the next five years towards building this state-of-the-art telecom and managed network ecosystem for businesses in Hawaii.”
Established in 2004, Servpac is headquartered in Honolulu and provides integrated telecommunication, managed IT and data center solutions for Hawaii businesses. With the new data center, the company further targets businesses with short and long term needs for solutions that addresses the impacts of Covid-19.
As announced, the data center also offer Disaster Recovery office space with 100 hot desks and 20 private suites, available on-demand for local businesses with back-up power.
