FOR A CARRIER-NEUTRAL 1.5MW FACILITY

Uganda based data center company Raxio, has just unveiled the signing-on of nine local fiber carriers for its Namanve carrier-neutral facility.

The establishment of these carriers’ partnerships are placed ahead of the company’s data center launch to achieve carrier-neutral and reliable connection for prospective customers with the promise of also offering competitive pricing.

The nine local fiber carriers include Africell Uganda Limited, Airtel Uganda, Bandwidth and Cloud Services Group (BCS Group), Csquared, Liquid Telecom, MTN Uganda, National Information Technology Authority-Uganda (NITA-U), Roke Telkom and Uganda Telecom Limited (UTL).

This will enable our customers to enjoy exceptionally high speeds and uninterrupted connections to their servers for digital customer and staff transactions,” said Michael Nyero, senior manager for strategic partnerships at MTN Business.

“MTN Uganda continues to invest in expanding the over 5,400Km of fiber network, to deliver the most reliable connectivity to customers across Uganda. With this partnership, Enterprises will be able to remotely connect to their platforms from Arua, Soroti, Hoima, Fort Portal, Gulu, Mbale, Mbarara and Central Uganda.”

The Namanve data center is a Tier III facility and at full build will accommodate up to 400 racks and deliver 1.5MW of IT power. Expected to be ready this year, the construction of the data center is under the supervision of Future Tech UK (lead consultant and technical partner), ROKO Construction Limited (civil works contractor) and Symbion Uganda (consultant project managers).

Through these partnerships, Raxio plans to attract more customers from a diverse number of sectors including banking, financial services, media, government and non-governmental, education, healthcare, e-commerce, utilities, energy, among many others.
