INCREASED AMS1 DATA CENTER BY 30%

Carrier-neutral data center provider Datacenter.com, has announced the Phase II completion of its Amsterdam Data Center AMS1.

According to the Netherlands based company, this expansion is in response to the strong demand from domestic and international enterprise and cloud computing customers in Amsterdam, looking to reduce IT infrastructure costs.

Amsterdam has always claimed to be a major city in the world with the highest number of data centers. Its low taxes and relatively cheap electricity has attracted a lot of tech companies and data centers to the region.

The rush became so much that in July this year, the Dutch capital Amsterdam declared a stop in the establishment of new data centers in its municipality and adjoining Haarlemmermeer.

Datacenter.com is one the fortunate companies that got a good grasp of the regional opportunities before the halt.

Although new data centers cannot be built, expansions such as this; does not breach the declaration. Datacenter.com revealed that this expansion has increased AMS1 data center floor area by 30%, adding 1,800 square meters (approx. 19,400 square feet). The company also said that the facility now has room for an additional 250 cabinets.

As announced, Phase II of the carrier-neutral data center facility AMS1 is now officially available to existing and new customers.
