New York data center provider DataGryd, announced that it has completed the construction of its data center suite MegaSuite 6, in New York.
The new DataGryd megasuite facility is located on the sixth floor of the 60 Hudson Street carrier hotel in New York City, which is the largest single-footprint data center space available in New York City.
“We’re thrilled to have completed this exciting build, offering a turnkey data center solution that expertly supports global networking requirements and technologies with effective IT infrastructure,” comments Tom Brown, President and CEO of DataGryd.
“As one of the largest data center construction projects in Manhattan, MegaSuite 6 stands as the most modern and efficient data center solution in the market. This underpins our commitment to driving operational efficiencies for customers while delivering the highest possible value into the future.”
The 5MW data center Suite offers 72,000 square feet of support infrastructure, N+1 UPS and cooling systems and a 26,000 gallon onsite diesel fuel storage. The suite is also connected to more than 300 carriers, network providers and exchanges, as well as six submarine systems anchored in the carrier hotel.
The company selected Hylan, a communications engineering and construction service provider, for the design and building of MegaSuite 6 power infrastructure. DataGryd said in an earlier report that, Hylan will ensure that tenants have access to space and power capabilities which are currently lacking in the downtown Manhattan area.
60 Hudson Street, formerly the headquarters of Western Union, is New York City’s largest data center by footprint and is home to several data center firms such as, Equinix, Digital Realty and Zayo.
DataGryd’s floor of the carrier hotel can be configured into 100kW, 250kW, 500kw and up to 5MW suites and the facility is expected to be available to customers later this year.
